Drug
I passed her door
a drug drifted on the air
it opened up to me
parting on a gentle hand
the scent now of the burning
I waited while he left
pushing me aside
he saw the dark outside and faltered
then left, looking back with no pride
she talked to herself as if alone
sitting like velvet in a rose coloured chair
her cheeks pale as if in dread
I floated in high above her bed
on my heightened senses
my heart now in some valley away
the room was in a shell with plaster walls
as she became red
I fled , it echoed as I took another breath
I came for this
